When rapper FlowOnTheTrack, age 21, enters a room, you immediately pick up on his calm disposition. He is the product of that new generation of Southern rappers that blends streetwise poetry with middle class angst. As a young songwriter coming up in the New South, Flow is soft spoken, but determined. He fearlessly forges ahead with his music, despite the present uncertainties facing the industry.
Question: Ok, Flow where were you like, what space were you in when you wrote the four song EP "Ni&&@$ Always Mad"?
Flow: I was in the middle of making my "Natural Habitat Project" and in the midst of making that album I had made these 4 songs. Well, these 4 songs, I liked them, but I didn't feel they belonged on the "Natural Habitat Project" so I put them on a separate EP.
Question: So what's different about the songs on the "Ni&&@$ Always Mad" EP?
Flow: "The Natural Habitat" project is more honest, it's not like I'm giving my whole life story, but its more genuine. ... and it's not an EP, it's longer.
Question: So what makes this EP dishonest in your words?
Flow: There's certain things that I say in my songs that are a reality, but everything isn't as honest as I would like it to be.
Question: For example?
Flow: Like the first song "FWM", which stands for '"F?<k With Me" - and it's kinda like saying I'm the hot stuff and you should learn from me, but I really don't know anything... but it's a really good song and all the songs on the EP are similar in nature. Some of those songs might be where...
